Feedback from Survivors’ Voices – 10 October 2017 1400hrs & 1900hrs at DanceEast

  • “It was one of the most powerful and persuasive ‘storytelling’ events I have ever attended. The expertise, insight, incredible talent and goodwill that we were able to bring together. I believe this format has legs and I think the reaction from hands in the air on the night confirms this. We championed the positive steps taken by some of the bravest people on this earth. So much admiration for the original voices and the panel. Amazing and beautiful. How often can we genuinely say that an initiative creates so many breakthroughs and wins for such a relatively small amount of money.”

  • “I just wanted to say how fantastic the event was last night. Such powerful performances and I thought the format with the brave panel answering questions was excellent. I hope they will feel able to do more and maybe roll this out across other counties… in the meantime well done Suffolk for leading the way.”

  • “It was an extraordinary piece of work, so powerful - I can’t stop thinking about it. As you said last night, it shows what can be achieved when people in Suffolk work together.”

  • “I just wanted to thank you for letting me attend the afternoon performance of Survivors Voices. It was incredibly moving and hard hitting but also terrifying to realise this is all going on nearby. It is very important to step outside of our bubble to realise what other people are going through and the organisations that are there to help them. “

  • “So good to actually see and listen to the victims, just ordinary people. It could be anyone”.

  • “Thank you for this invitation, I found it really powerful. The victims were so humbling yet confident when they took the stage for questions. The drama was very well portrayed and the actors were great! I think the male actors did a splendid portrayal and appreciate it must be awful to play those parts. I was pleased and empathetic to hear Annie say she struggled with the idea to start with, that was so akin to my initial thoughts! I believe the Church has a significant role in community well-being. I think there would be many Church Ministers/Vicars who appreciate an invitation if there is ever a re-run. It was good to see Police representation there and hopefully NHS too.”

  • “Well done to all! I thought it was a brilliant and inspiring event! Powerful performances…with an unapologetic message that echoes.”

  • “completely and utterly blown away, by the powerful content…… and by the strength of the women who answered our questions.”

  • “Survivors Voices provided invaluable insight not only into the terrible reality some woman face on a daily basis but also crucially into what might be of help to them.”

  • “I feel this performance would be beneficial to many more… I certainly would have like all our office to see this performance”. “Incredibly moving and hard hitting but also terrifying to realise this is going on nearby”.

  • “I just wanted to say how fantastic the event was last night. Such brave performances and I thought the panel was excellent. I hope we may be able to roll this out to more people. In the meantime – very well done”.

  • “What a profound evening. We were both deeply humbled and very quiet and contemplative on our way home. Everyone I asked to come were also deeply moved. One friend said that she felt “all her safe middle class security being stripped away during the evening” and spent afterwards in thought. It caused another friend to remember that they have triumphed out of their own adversity as a child and another friend to phone her daughters school and to make sure that one of her peers was receiving the correct support for her own issues, which has subsequently been confirmed and acknowledged."
