 “Better than therapy"

A member of the Women’s Refuge playwrighting group

What

Hal does...

Delivering inspirational playwrighting workshops, helping people learn the skills and find the confidence to tell their stories. Producing and touring plays that highlight lesser-heard voices.

The workshops are delivered by Danusia Iwaszko, an award-winning playwright who has had more than twenty professional productions of her plays in London, Edinburgh, York, Suffolk, and Sydney and was an attached writer at The National Theatre. She has delivered these workshops in prisons for 15 years and in Women’s Refuges, for the homeless, people recovering from drug and alcohol, the elderly, for MIND, and with special needs groups.

HAL, Registered Charity: 1202742

The Hal Company is a charitable incorporated organisation that provides playwrighting workshops, giving people the chance to write their stories and then share this writing using professional actors. Some of the stories are then made into full-length plays which Hal then stages and tours.
